Welcome from Assistant Principal Kennell


My name is Nichelle Kennell.  I am the new Assistant Principal.  My husband and I have been together for 20 years and have two beautiful little girls, Hunter, who is 10 and Jazmyn 7currently reside in North Smithfield but originally hale from Nixa, Missouri.

Educationally, I hold certification in both Missouri and Rhode Island in Elementary Education. I also have a Master’s Degree in K-12 Administration (Missouri) and Pre K – 12 Administration (Rhode Island).

I taught for seven years in the Forysth Public School District in Forysth, Missouri. During that time, I taught six years in third grade and one year in second grade. I served on many committees including; Math Curriculum, MAP Data Analysis, Book Fair, Personal Learning Committee, Student Data Analysis, and Science Curriculum.  I also served as grade level representative for four years and spent the summer of 2014 as administrative intern to the Elementary Principal. I have spent the last two years as an Education Coordinator for two area preschools.

My hobbies include: camping with the family, watching movies, listening to music, reading books, and organizing things.  For sport activitiesI enjoy bowling, walks in the woods, and attempting to play tennis. 

I am excited about this new chapter in my life and career. I look forward to growing as an administrator here at Pothier-Citizens' Memorial.
